The traditional Veuve Clicquot assemblage is around two thirds black grapes (Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier) and one third Chardonnay. The exact proportions vary, as the extraordinary success of Veuve Clicquot’s Yellow Label is to achieve the House style year after year, regardless of the vintage. This wine is recognised throughout the world and in the UK is clearly seen as the champagne of the “season”.
